Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-18

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Viewfinch (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. The service

Viewfinch (the "Service") is a software-as-a-service product that helps YouTube creators:

  • Analyse channels and individual videos via AI-assisted insights;
  • Generate AI-assisted titles, descriptions, tags, briefs, and reply drafts;
  • Schedule the public release of videos the creator has already uploaded as private or unlisted to their own channel;
  • Review channel and audience engagement metrics retrieved through the YouTube Data API.

Features are described on the marketing page at viewfinch.com and may evolve. Material reductions to free-tier features will be announced via email at least 30 days in advance.

Viewfinch is operated by Megha Singh, an individual based in India, operating Viewfinch as a sole proprietor. The contracting party will transfer to an incorporated entity if and when Viewfinch is incorporated (see §15). Viewfinch is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or under license from Google LLC, YouTube LLC, or any of the third-party sub-processors named in our Privacy Policy.

3. Your account

  • You must provide accurate signup details and keep your credentials secure. You may not impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
  • One account per person. Sharing accounts is not allowed. If you need multiple seats, ask us about a team plan once available.
  • Minimum age: you must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher — in many EU member states this is 16; in India, parental consent is required under the DPDP Act for users under 18). By creating an account you represent that you meet this threshold.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your account, including activity by anyone you give your credentials to.
  • YouTube channel connections. You may only connect YouTube channels for which you are the owner, authorised manager, or licensed agent. By connecting a channel you represent and warrant that you have the authority to do so. Connecting a channel you do not own is a material breach of these Terms and grounds for immediate suspension.

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service to violate YouTube's Terms of Service, the YouTube Developer Policies, or any other third-party rights or terms.
  • Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract data or source from the Service outside the documented public API. Use of automated tools to interact with the Service in ways its UI does not support is prohibited (e.g., headless browsers driving the extension).
  • Use the Service to produce, post, or distribute "Inauthentic Content" as YouTube defines that term — content lacking genuine human creativity, mass-produced AI uploads, channel-cloning, or coordinated-inauthentic-behaviour. This mirrors YouTube's Inauthentic Content Policy and protects both your channel and ours from termination.
  • Use AI features to generate content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, defamatory, infringing of intellectual property, or sexually explicit involving minors. We may decline to process prompts that trigger our AI sub-processors' safety classifiers, and repeated attempts may result in suspension.
  • Generate, distribute, or facilitate the creation of deepfakes — material misrepresenting a real person's identity, voice, or likeness without their explicit consent.
  • Generate election-related content designed to deceive voters about candidates, elections, or election processes.
  • Connect YouTube channels you do not own or are not explicitly authorised to manage (see §3).
  • Resell, white-label, or redistribute the Service or its outputs without explicit written permission. AI-generated outputs you publish on your own connected channels are yours to use commercially.
  • Probe, attack, scan, or attempt to overwhelm the Service's infrastructure. Coordinated disclosure of security issues is welcomed at security@viewfinch.com.

5. AI output

AI-generated outputs are recommendations, not facts. They are statistical predictions of "what plausible content for this topic might look like," not verified information. The AI may produce content that is inaccurate, misleading, derivative of third-party works, biased, or culturally insensitive.

You are solely responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, editing, and deciding whether to publish any output the Service produces. We do not guarantee accuracy, originality, fitness for any particular purpose, or non-infringement of third-party rights for any AI output.

No advice or professional service. AI-generated text about legal, medical, financial, tax, mental-health, child-safety, or similarly regulated topics is not professional advice. Do not rely on it for those purposes; consult a qualified professional.

Your indemnification of Viewfinch. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold Viewfinch and its operator(s) harmless from any third-party claim, demand, suit, or damages arising out of: (a) AI-generated content you publish, distribute, or otherwise act on; (b) your use of any AI-generated output in violation of these Terms or applicable law; (c) any representation you made about your ownership of a connected YouTube channel that turned out to be incorrect; and (d) your breach of YouTube's Terms of Service or Developer Policies.

Our reciprocal protection. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to prevent the Service from producing outputs that infringe well-known third-party works, but we make no warranty to that effect. If a sub-processor's terms entitle us to indemnification for outputs they generated, we will not currently flow that protection through to you — let us know if you need enterprise-tier indemnification arrangements before publication and we can discuss.

6. Billing and refunds

  • Plans: Free / Creator (₹500 or US$5 per month) / Pro (₹2,000 or US$20 per month). Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. The plan and price you see at checkout is what you will be charged for the current billing cycle.
  • Currency. Indian-issued cards are charged in INR; foreign cards in USD. The currency shown at checkout is final.
  • Billing partner. All payments are processed by Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd. ("Razorpay"). By subscribing you authorise Razorpay to charge your selected payment method recurringly until you cancel. Disputes regarding payment processing should first be raised with Razorpay; we will assist where we can.
  • Cancellation. Cancel any time from /billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle; you retain access to paid features until then.
  • Refunds. We do not issue prorated refunds for mid-cycle cancellations. Exceptions: (a) duplicate charges or amounts billed in error; (b) loss of service to a paid feature for 24+ consecutive hours not attributable to a user or sub-processor outage we have publicly disclosed; (c) cases where local consumer-protection law requires a refund (e.g., distance-selling cooling-off periods in some EU jurisdictions). Contact billing@viewfinch.com.
  • Failed payments. If a recurring charge fails, we will retry per Razorpay's standard schedule. After three failed retries we will suspend paid features and reset your plan to "free" until billing is restored. We will email you at each retry stage.
  • Tax. Prices are stated exclusive of any GST, VAT, sales tax, or equivalent. If we are required to collect indirect taxes for your jurisdiction, the tax will be added at checkout and shown on your invoice.
  • Currency conversion. If your card's billing currency differs from the charge currency, your card issuer may apply a foreign-exchange fee. That fee is between you and your card issuer.

7. YouTube data and Google APIs

OAuth authorisation. When you connect a YouTube channel, Viewfinch acts on your behalf via Google's official OAuth flow. We request the minimum scopes needed for the features you use:

  • youtube.readonly — to fetch your channel/video metadata, statistics, comments, and captions.
  • youtube.force-ssl — to download manual caption tracks via captions.download.
  • yt-analytics.readonly (Pro plan only) — to retrieve revenue and watch-time analytics.

You can revoke access at any time from your Google account permissions page. Revocation immediately stops new data retrieval; deletion of data already retrieved is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Scope of data accessed. Viewfinch's data-retrieval architecture is described in our Privacy Policy §1. Briefly:

  • For YouTube channels you connect, we access the data the Data API exposes (channel metadata, video metadata, transcripts, public comments).
  • For YouTube videos you do NOT own, we access only the public metadata (views, likes, comments) via the same Data API. We do not fetch transcripts, run AI analysis, or store derived content for videos outside your connected channels.
  • Our browser extension may extract transcripts from YouTube's "Show transcript" panel for videos you are personally viewing in your own browser, and send that transcript to our backend ONLY when the video is on one of your connected channels. The extension does not send transcripts for videos outside your connected channels.

Compliance with YouTube terms. Your use of YouTube data through Viewfinch remains subject to YouTube's Terms of Service, the YouTube Developer Policies, and Google's Privacy Policy. You agree to comply with those terms in addition to ours. If YouTube's terms and ours conflict regarding your handling of YouTube data, YouTube's terms control as to YouTube data.

8. Termination

Your termination. You can close your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and irrevocable; cascades through every table; see Privacy Policy §6 for the billing-record exception.

Our suspension or termination. We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • You materially breach these Terms (including the acceptable-use rules in §4 and the YouTube-channel-ownership representation in §3).
  • You abuse the Service in a way that imposes a disproportionate load or risks security.
  • Your activity exposes us to legal, regulatory, or platform-policy risk (e.g., a YouTube takedown notice naming you, an emergency law-enforcement request).
  • Required by court order, valid government request, or to comply with applicable law.

Except in cases of imminent risk, we will give you at least 7 days' notice via email before suspending paid features for cause, and an opportunity to cure if cure is possible.

Effect of termination by us. If we terminate your account for breach, paid-plan payments already made are non-refundable. We will provide you with a one-time data export upon written request within 30 days of termination, subject to legitimate-interest exceptions (e.g., fraud investigation).

YouTube channel terminations — your data with us. If YouTube terminates a channel you have connected to Viewfinch, our cached data for that channel does not automatically delete. You retain the ability to export and delete your Viewfinch data via Settings while your Viewfinch account is active. If you are appealing a YouTube channel termination and want us to retain your Viewfinch data beyond a normal deletion request, email support@viewfinch.com with the appeal details — we will hold data for up to 90 additional days at our discretion.

Discontinuation of the Service. We may discontinue features or the Service itself with at least 30 days' notice for paid subscribers (60 days for features paid-plan users have built workflows around — e.g., the scheduling engine). We will offer a final data export window of at least 60 days following announced shutdown.

9. Warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will meet your needs.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Viewfinch's aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) ₹10,000 / US$100. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages — lost revenue, lost data, lost opportunities, or business interruption. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or consequential damages; in those jurisdictions, this limitation applies to the extent permitted.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest change.

  • Material changes — including changes to fees, refund policy, acceptable use, AI-output indemnification, governing law, or termination rights — take effect at least 30 days after we notify you by email and post the updated Terms.
  • Non-material changes — typo fixes, clarifications, contact details, sub-processor name spelling — take effect immediately and are reflected in the "Last updated" date.

If you continue to use the Service after a material change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept a material change, you may close your account before the effective date and receive a prorated refund for unused paid-plan time.

12. Contact

Questions: support@viewfinch.com. Privacy enquiries: privacy@viewfinch.com.

13. Governing law + dispute resolution

Governing law. These Terms and any dispute arising under them are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Jurisdiction. You and Viewfinch agree that the courts of Bengaluru, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service.

Exception for EU and UK consumers. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you reside, and you have the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws of that country (e.g., the Consumer Rights Directive in the EU). The governing-law choice above does not deprive you of those mandatory protections.

Dispute resolution process. Before filing a formal claim, you agree to first contact legal@viewfinch.com with a description of the dispute. We will attempt to resolve in good faith within 30 days. If we cannot, either party may pursue available legal remedies.

14. DMCA + copyright complaints

Copyright concerns about Viewfinch itself or AI-generated output. If you believe content produced by or accessible through the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice to dmca@viewfinch.com including:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with sufficient detail to locate it.
  4. Your contact information.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorised.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

We will respond to validly-formatted notices within a reasonable time. We may remove or disable access to material that appears to infringe, and we may suspend the accounts of users who repeatedly trigger infringement complaints.

YouTube content. Viewfinch itself does not host YouTube content; we retrieve metadata and transcripts through Google's API on behalf of users with appropriate authorisation. Copyright concerns about specific YouTube videos should be raised directly with YouTube via their copyright complaint form.

15. Entity, contracting party, and assignment

Contracting party. These Terms are a contract between you and Megha Singh, an individual operating Viewfinch as a sole proprietor in India. Communications and notices to us should be sent to the email addresses specified in the Privacy Policy and these Terms.

Assignment. You may not assign these Terms or your account to anyone else without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or operation of law, provided the assignee assumes our obligations.

Successors. If Viewfinch is incorporated as a legal entity after the date you accept these Terms, your account and these Terms automatically continue with the incorporated entity as the contracting party. We will email you when the change takes effect.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any specific plan terms presented at checkout, are the entire agreement between you and Viewfinch regarding the Service. They supersede any prior agreement.
